Sodium Lactate

Sodium Lactate is a liquid form of salt that aids in unmolding soap as well as aids in producing a hard and longer lasting bar of soap.  Sodium lactate is derived from the natural fermentation of sugars found in corn and beets.  It is commonly used in food products as a preservative.  When used in skincare it is a particularly effective humectant that helps strengthen the skin moisture barrier.
